Am leaving you with some Images of Endemic ( Native ) trees I happened to capture during the Bird Festival held in the Chambal Sanctuary, Bah, Uttar Pradesh.
Ficus is a large Genus of Trees and Aerial roots are a feature unique to the Genus.
The Peepul or Bodhi tree under which Lord Buddha gained Enlightenment.
Here the Indian Honey Bees have found a wonderful home up in the midst of Tree Tops.
A Buzzard gazes at all that passes by in his domain as he is perched on the Top of a “Desi Babool” tree.
Be Enchanted with the images and I will return with more interesting facts on the Flora.
I absolutely love the featured picture of this post. The image of a hawk gazing out from atop a tree is one I’ll never get tired of.

Holy crap, that’s beautiful! I have two ficus trees. One I got in 1979 and the other in 1983. They barely fit in my house anymore. They’re like family.😘

That is wonderful to hear about, you must be getting many birds visiting then as the Ficus trees bear fruits which they love.

Actually, I have them inside during the winter and put them
outside in the summer. They also don’t bear fruit. I had no idea ficus bore fruit!

Ok you may be having the ornamental species like the Ficus benjamina. Ficus is only the genus the latter half of the name will reveal the species.

Wonderful photos. The buzzard interests me. We have a buzzard in Australia that uses tools. http://www.birdsinbackyards.net/species/Hamirostra-melanosternon The bird picks up a rock and uses it to hammer open an egg to eat. Amazingly intelligent birds.
