  1. I know this plant well. The cycad is quite an ancient plant form some sources say date back to 200 million years ago – the Jurassic period. We have them growing in the tropical and subtropical areas of Australia where they are used for their structural beauty although they are often attacked by moths who make quite a mess of the fronds. They’re almost extinct in the wild. Thanks for the lovely pictures.
